Desert Branch - Arizona and Clark County, Nevada The Desert Branch of the Western United States Pipe Band Association (WUSPBA) was created to offer a local presence to its member bands.

Generally, the focus is on the Great Highland Bagpipe, the Scottish snare drum, the tenor drum, the bass drum and the performance of drum majors.

The Los Angeles Scottish Pipe Band was founded in 1961 by Pipe Major Jimmy Thompson, Pipe Sergeant Ian MacDonald and Drum Sergeant Charlie Capperauld.
